Exponent is a deep-tech startup operating in the EV space and is co-founded by Ather Energy’s ex-Chief Product Officer, Arun Vinayak.
We are in the business of building transformative yet simple solutions for everyone to use in the EV industry.
We possess nearly 10 years of Indian EV experience, are 20 members strong and are looking to add a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to our ranks on a full-time basis.
Experience
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred with minimum 3 years of Industry Experience
- Prior experience working with Metals as well as Plastics
- Familiarity on thermal, mechanical and electrical requirements for thermal components is highly desired
- Prior experience on one full product cycle from concept creation to production is desired
- Ability to work and communicate effectively among cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a team in a fast-paced environment where convention is challenged on a daily basis
- Familiarity with DFMEAs, DVPS and functional safety requirements

- Design and develop Electric vehicle sub-system components
- Own specifications and requirements for parts, to ensure product is delivered as intended
- Work with suppliers to get products manufactured and delivered on time
- Support integration of components into prototype and production systems
- Responsible for DFM, DFA for components
- Proven proficiency in 3D CAD, Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion 360
- Strong skills in creating detailed drawings (2D) incl. technical documentation such as assembly instructions
- Tolerance analysis, according applicable GD&T standards
- Robust knowledge of design controls, Hazard analysis and DFMEA
- Good understanding of testing critical to quality and regulatory requirements
- A background in defining and organizing verification tests, either internally or with a partner
- Experience in transferring technical data to suppliers, in a SMART and structured manner
- Proven leadership skills, acting as lead engineer, performing work breakdown / divide work & delegation / (final) review.
- Team player and excellent communicator, especially with virtual teams
- Strong organizing, planning, monitoring, execution skills (supplier related)
- Experience in designing enclosures to meet EMI/EMC requirements, gasket selection and application.
- Self-motivated, able to carry out assignments with limited instruction, and efficiently plans, manages, and delivers development work for complex projects
